Virginia Leonard
Virginia Leonard was born and grew up in the Winchester Ontario area. When she joined the work force she moved to Prescott. She and her husband, Tony, live in Prescott and now retired, spend their summers at their cottage on the Rideau, which has given her inspiration for many of her paintings.
Now that she is retired she also enjoys the leisure of spending more time with her family and on various projects including her art and genealogical research, which has led her to volunteering with the “Grenville County Historical Society”.
She has attended various art courses at St. Lawrence College over the last several years where she has rekindled her love of drawing and painting. Virginia is presently working in acrylics but has also tried her hand with watercolour, charcoal and coloured pencil.
She has been selling her greeting card creations for some time under the business name “Ladybug Lane Studio”.
She is a member of the South Grenville Guild of Fine Art and will be showing with them in their spring shows. She was also on the Seaway Autumn Studio Tour and at the Talent by the Tower at the Prescott Market. Her art has also been on display at the SGGOFA art gallery in the Prescott Library, in the Brockville Arts Centre, Art Scene in Spencerville and also at various locations in downtown Prescott.
