Sharon Stein
Sharon Stein is a Multi-Media Artist who uses oils, watercolours, pen and ink, pencils and soft pastels. Sweeping large landscapes, delicate flowers, complicated machinery and fine detail are things she specializes in. Brilliant colour and good design are the most important components of her work.
Sharon does not remember a time when she did not draw or paint. She graduated with distinction from St. Lawrence College and won the Academic Council Award of Excellence in 1991. She began her teaching career in 1987 with St. Lawrence College. Commercial commissions, private adult and youth classes, stained glass design, church window restorations, murals, theater back drops, calligraphy and logo design are some other areas of activity.
Sharon’s work is in collections across Canada, the U.S.A., Germany, The Philippines, Barbados and Singapore. She maintains contact with Ducks Unlimited, the United Way, the local school boards, church and historical Societies with donations or teaching seminars. Sharon continues to paint from her studio in Maynard, Ontario and one of her favourite maxims is: To paint well is to see well.
