Frank Taker Growing up on a farm in rural North Oxfordshire and then Egypt meant formal education had to wait until I was twelve. That year started with a trip to London to see a great Turner exhibition. It fostered a love of art but I always found how artists could put down an idea on a surface both fascinating and mystifying, something I couldn't see myself doing. In 2016 I read a letter the artist John Marin had sent to someone who wanted advice on how to begin painting. He replied: "Buy some paper, some paint and a brush. Put paint on brush and brush on paper then repeat until your vision appears. The result will be uniquely yours."So that is what I did. I like to paint from memory or imagination using oils and watercolour.
