Karen Atcheson
Karen Atcheson is a watercolour artist whose creative pursuits extend into acrylic, linocut, pastel, pencil, and ink. Born in rural Quebec, her early surroundings deeply influenced her art. From a young age, she was drawn to capturing the beauty in everyday moments—sketching houses, landscapes, and people.
Karen graduated with Honours from the Creative Visual Arts and Photography program at St. Lawrence College in Cornwall. Her love for storytelling through imagery has been a constant thread throughout her career, both as a fine artist and as a graphic designer.
After moving to Ottawa, Karen become an Art Director at leading ad agencies. Today, she continues to channel her creativity in her role as Event Planner and Production Coordinator at Upper Canada Village.
Karen has made her home in the Prescott area for over 30 years, where she finds inspiration in the local landscapes and historic landmarks. She has furthered her education at the Ottawa School of Art, Algonquin College, and the St. Lawrence College in Brockville. She has also shared her knowledge and passion by teaching photography and art history at the Cornwall and Brockville campuses of St. Lawrence College.
A proud member of the South Grenville Guild of Fine Art for over
25 years, Karen paints both en plein air and from photographs, and
