Jenna Meppelder is a watercolour artist and visual arts teacher.  She enjoys painting all subjects and is constantly seeking out new projects.  In particular she finds natural subjects lend themselves well to the fluidity and versatility of watercolour; allowing her to create many different effects.

Jenna grew up in Johnstown, Ontario and is currently residing in Maitland with her husband Luke.  Her interest in visual arts began at an early age and continued to grow.  Art classes, at South Grenville District High School in Prescott, intensified her interest and lead her to pursue her talent in post-secondary education.  While at Queen’s University in the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours program, Jenna’s style developed greatly as she concentrated on studying different subject matter, media, and techniques.  Jenna continued her studies at Queen’s in the Artist in Community Education program for practising artists pursuing career opportunities in education.  Graduating in the “ACE” program with a Bachelor of Education, Jenna is intermediate senior qualified in Visual Art, Art History, History and Geography.

As a teacher, Jenna continues trying new things while keeping an open mind in the field of visual arts.  Her love for art has only grown and she plans to share her talents while motivating her students to develop their artistic abilities and encouraging them to share their art with their community.
